Full-day Las Palmas cultural walking tour

The guide spoke in 3 languages, I think. This was not mentioned on booking. There was a lot of pickups and we were first.

We felt that the group was far too big for one small lady to cope with. She had no stick or flag so we could see her when walking round the streets of Las Palmas. Although she spoke German & English well the group had no chance of hearing her outside the coach. We really needed a Vox Box to hear her on the street in museum and Cathedral. No warning that nearly all the information in the museums would be only in Spanish. Not enough time to visit shopping street, not told of location. Needed map

I understand that there are a lack of guides in the area. This is the explanation I was given when I complained to a Tui rep. The hotel pick ups in the area, took an hour as , not everyone was ready at their stop. The poor guide had to the information in 3 languages, a feat indeed. However, it was fast and ,despite my concerted effort was unable to follow the English information fully. As a solo traveller, I tried to seek out other English speaking visitors to compare notes and accuracies.…

The time in Las Palmas was interesting however spending two hours on a coach there and two hours back was not. The size of the group was too large making it difficult to hear information from the guide. Having to hear the same information in two languages was irritating to say the least . Would I recommend this tour in the current format, definitely not.

Our guide, Miguel, was excellent; he was genuinely passionate and enthusiastic about the island's culture, which made the experience informative and engaging. Nice mix of guided tour and free time. We had a photographer working for TUI asking us to pose for photos, which was fine, but I would suggest offering an incentive if you want the group to participate in something additional to the advertised experience.

No one at coach pick up checking correct passengers go onboard, one family on wrong coach ?. To many people for the tour, Guide had to wander within group to make sure all got relevant information. Overall enjoyed the day, the guide very informative, spoke several languages, very impressed
