What to expect

Enjoy a 2-hour adventure on the blue ocean around Madeira to admire whales and dolphins. Get the opportunity to spot the resident cetacean species such as sperm whales, bottlenose dolphins, and common dolphins.

The tour operates all year round in Madeira, an area where there is always something to see, but the best season to observe some of the biggest whales in the world is springtime (March to December). In this specific season, whales are migrating and passing by Madeiran waters and you'll be able to see fin whales, blue whales, and killer whales.

During the excursion, you'll tour the surrounding areas of Funchal by speedboat with 2 professional spotters and gigantic binoculars to increase the chances of encounters.

Start this activity at Blue Safari Madeira - Whales and Dolphins, Marina do Funchal Gate number 4. You will find the boat on the east corner of the Marina at GATE number 4. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
