Explore the Colosseum and its surroundings on a guided evening tour through the heart of Ancient Rome. This experience includes views over the Roman Forum from above, as well as several of the city’s most important historical sites.
The tour begins at Trajan’s Column, continuing along Via dei Fori Imperiali with panoramic views of the Roman Forum, once the civic and commercial center of the empire. As you walk, your professional English speaking guide will share stories about Rome’s political religious and social life, pointing out temples arches and key landmarks that shaped the ancient city.
Passing by the Forums of Caesar and Augustus, you will make your way toward the highlight of the tour, the Colosseum. Enter the amphitheater in the evening, when it is quieter and more atmospheric, and discover the history of the monument and the people who once filled its stands.
Inside the Colosseum, your guide will explain the structure and evolution of the amphitheater, as well as the spectacles that once took place here. Guests who select the Arena Floor option will step onto the reconstructed arena itself, gaining a deeper sense of the scale of Rome’s greatest amphitheater and viewing recently discovered ancient graffiti. Guests choosing the standard option will explore the Colosseum interior and upper levels without Arena access. Underground areas are not included on this tour.
