What to expect

Your adventure kicks off by heading south into Teide National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – climbing through a dense pine forest. There's a pit stop at Chirche viewpoint, which often overlooks cloud-shrouded terrain below. The scenery around here is still bursting with greenery. But as we journey deeper into the national park, you'll encounter volcanic landscapes that could easily be on the moon, Venus or Mars. Desolate, rock-strewn badlands. A stop at Roques de Garcia allows you to take some pics near these iconic rock formations, with the volcano's cone in the background.

Grab a last look at the lava-scarred landscapes at Poleos viewpoint before dropping into a family-run restaurant for a lunch made from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Rounding off the day is a visit to Masca – a hard-to-reach hamlet perched on a ridge in a deep volcanic gorge. Enjoy free time to poke around and take in the vistas.

Driver and guide were excellent and kept us well informed plus we had a road closure and a longer drive back. Lunch was nice, good choice and well presented.

We were sold the trip as a guided tour in English it turned out to be a convoy of 4 transit minibuses with the guide being polish speaking from the front minibus where we were in the third minibus by walkie talkie, so there could be no two way conversation etc as we were in a convoy of four vehicles it made it difficult at stopping off points etc were as one vehicle could have found parking on its own. We spent hours driving yet given 10-15 mins on arrival at our given stopping off point.
